PDA Synchronization

• Microsoft ActiveSync (any version) – ActiveSync is deprecated; use Windows Mobile Device Center instead. WMDC replaces ActiveSync.

Antivirus

(many of these products have newer versions which do work under Windows Vista RTM—see above for details)

• Avira AntiVir Workstation 7 — will not install
• Dr. Web v4.33
• ESET NOD32 v2.51.28 – 32/64 Bit — will not install, upgrade to v2.70.16 or later
• F-Secure 2007 – 32/64 Bit
• Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 (32-64 bit) — incompability problem with Vista. After the setup started, an incompability error appears, so the setup cannot contuine and program cannot be installed.
• Kaspersky Internet Security 2006 – 32/64 Bit
• MKS_VIR 2k7 (v 08.01.2007) – after installation finds many viruses inside of \Windows\ folder, also it doesn’t open the program window. And at last you cannot uninstall it…
• Panda Antivirus 2007 – 32/64 Bit
• SoftWin Bitdefender 10 – 32/64 Bit
• Symantec Norton 2007 – 32/64 Bit
• Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 – 32/64 Bit

CD/DVD Authoring

• Nero 7.2.7.0 Premium Edition — After extraction of the main setup files, error message “This version doesn’t support Windows Vista. ….” is received. But, it can be installed. After extraction, click “OK” on the error message. Go to Users\[your account name]\Local\Temp\NeroDemoXXXXX and run “Nero.msi”. The setup starts (but starts very latelier than XP) and install Nero (but install very slowly). You can install by this way, but not with normal main setup.

File System

• Paragon Mount Everything 3.5 (32-bit) — installs, but not compatible
• Paragon Partition Manager 7.0 (32-bit) — installs, but not compatible
• Symantec Partition Magic 8.0 (will back up the partitions but not the boot record/manager – as a workaround, reinstall Vista to C:\ (this recreates the boot manager), then restore your C: Vista partition from your image)

Graphics/Design

• ACDSee Pro v9.0b55 – NOT compatible

В принципе, ничего критически важного, кроме синхронизации с PDA нет. Но вот дождаться релиза Windows Mobile Device Center стоит.
